The
international Folklore Festival SEMBERIJA FOLK FEST RHYTHM OF
EUROPE is a
floor festival of folklore creativity that will take place in
the beginning of August in Bijeljina (Bosnia and Herzegovina)
under the auspices of the Bijeljina Municipal Assembly. The
founder and organizer of the Festival is the
Cultural Club
Semberija Bijeljina
The aim of the Festival is to cherish and promote the folklore
tradition of the people from all over the world to the citizens
and guests of Bijeljina, Republic of Srpska and Bosnia and
Herzegovina, to inform the guest ensembles about the local
culture and tradition of the host town and
its surroundings, as well as to establish cooperation and
friendly relationships among the
ensembles from all over the world..
Ten ensembles from
several countries will take part in the Festival and represent
the folklore and culture of their countries.
The Festival will
begin on the 4th August and finish on the 9th August, on the
Saint Pantelejmon, which is the most important religious
celebration of the Bijeljina town.
The
programs will be realized on several locations out of doors -
the Central town square, churchyard of the monastery Saint
Vasilije Ostroski, the town park and the folklore village
Stanisic. All of the ensembles participate in the parade over
the town streets in front of a large number of bystanders.
The ensembles on the
stage will carry out their performance in duration of 10 to 30
minutes in accordance with schedule.
During their leisure
time, the participants and guests will be free to get to know
the host town and country, culture, tradition and customs of the
people who live in the area.
During the Festival,
all participants will be accommodated in the dormitory, with
provided three meals per day. The Organiser will provide
transport for all participants to the venues of the Festival.
The participants will bear the costs of arrival and departure
from the Festival and to possess all necessary travel documents.
